Ecology and Management of Invasive Species and Forest Ecosystems

Forest Management

Management techniques may be applied to intermediate to mature stands to influence individual tree health and growth as well as overall stand condition.  We conduct research on crop tree management that focuses resources on a few select crop trees, thinning that distributes resources to all residual trees, and herbicide treatment of mature stands.  Our research also examines the sustainability of forest ecosystems and how forest management impacts soil, water, and woody biomass for renewable energy.
