Ecological and Economic Sustainability of the Appalachian Forest in an Era of Globalization
Sustainability of Appalachian Forests
We conduct basic research to understand ecosystem processes and properties, and apply that understanding to building management systems to maintain and enhance the productivity and sustainability of forest ecosystems in the Appalachians, and at national and international scales.
We also research forest management practices to enhance recovery and status of rare, threatened, and endangered species.
