Current Research

As a research scientist at the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science, and coordinator for the USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub I coordinate projects related to climate change and adaptation in the FS Region 9 footprint. I also support NIACS Climate Change Response Framework  efforts to address climate change vulnerability within the Northwoods, Central Hardwoods, Central Appalachian, Mid-Atlantic, and New England regions. My primary responsibilities are to network and coordinate collaborations between stakeholders and partners for the USDA Northern Forests Climate Hub, and when time allows I also take on projects related to data synthesis, GIS mapping, website development and science communication design projects for the NIACS.

Why This is Important

Understanding the impacts of climate change and finding ways to adapt to those changes helps managers make informed decisions about forest management.
