Current Research

As a Climate Change Outreach Specialist for the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science, I support various components of climate and carbon projects. Much of my time is devoted to working with the project team to expand the Climate Change Response Framework developed for northern Wisconsin to other landscapes. The Ecosystem Vulnerability Assessment and Synthesis (Version 1) was created as part of the pilot project in northern Wisconsin. I continue to work with the project team on a second version of the assessment in order to synthesize the latest research, newest climate and habitat predictions, and a broader discussion of key ecosystem vulnerabilities in northern Wisconsin under a range of future climate uncertainty.

I also work to develop the Central Appalachian Climate Change Response Framework, which will produce a forest ecosystem vulnerability assessment for Ohio and West Virginia. We will use this information to develop climate change adaptation strategies and tactics for forests in the Central Appalachian region.
