Current Research

As a Climate Change Outreach Specialist for the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science, I support components of several climate and carbon projects. I synthesize and facilitate communication and collaboration between forest landowners, natural resource professionals, scientists, educators, and members of the public.
My main projects: I work on the project team to develop the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF) Climate Change Response Framework It will incorporate conceptual processes for planning climate change adaptation, climate change adaptation strategies and approaches applicable to northern Wisconsin, and a step-by-step manager’s workbook for applying strategies to forest management. The Ecosystem Vulnerability Assessment and Synthesis was also created as part of the Response Framework.  I will continue to be on the project team to update this document as necessary to synthesize the latest research, newest climate and habitat predictions, and a broader discussion of key ecosystem vulnerabilities within CNNF under a range of future climate uncertainty.
