Urban forest data are being collected from across the United States based on top-down aerial approaches and bottom-up field data collection. This site links to various data sets and reports for urban forest data in the United States at the state level, county level, county subdivision level and local community or place level. Users are encouraged to explore states or communities of interest to see what data are available.
Each state links to reports, metadata and results from state urban and community forest assessments as part of the national RPA assessment (Resource Planning Act). These pages summarize cover and population information for urban and community areas within each state. Results are reported at the county, county subdivision and place level based on National Land Cover Data (NLCD) and US Census Bureau data. Data tables are provided in Excel format. GIS data files are also included with the state data. Data tables are currently available for contiguous United States and the District of Columbia.
Following are links to reports, metadata and results from various cities or urban areas that were assessed using field plot data analyzed by i-Tree – ECO (UFORE). These data were collected by the US Forest Service or cooperators
